The Northern Miner, in partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), OpsGuru, a Carbon60 Company, and Xerris, has completed a comprehensive research project defining the benefits and obstacles to operationalizing cloud technology in mining and exploration.

Industry-Wide Survey

We surveyed executives, geologists, mining engineers, project managers, and consultants, seeking feedback on their current experience with cloud computing, as well as future implementation plans.

Innovation Leaders Round-Panel Discussion

Results of this survey were presented to a virtual discussion panel of technology leaders from Newmont, Vale, Prospector Portal and cloud computing experts from AWS, OpsGuru and Xerris. Panelists added their own perspective and context to interpret the results.

To conclude the project, The Northern Miner compiled a comprehensive Mining Cloud Technology report documenting key findings from both the survey and the discussion panel.
